Mental Health Awareness Day
Active Minds will host the 2016 Mental Health Awareness Day on Monday, April 25 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The event will be held in Coffman Union’s Great Hall. Stop in to:
- check out the mental health resources on campus,
- pet PAWS therapy animals,
- visit with student groups that care about mental health (like MSA
and de-stress
), and
- grab some free cookies!
The event will feature an empty chair display to represent the 1,100 college students lost to suicide every year in the US. There will be an opportunity to post notes of remembrance and encouragement on the chairs and to fill out an "I Stand Up to Mental Health Stigma Because..." sign for Active Minds' de-stigmatizing campaign.
More information is available on Facebook. If you have questions about the event, feel free to email Active Minds at aminds@umn.edu.
